Construction Estimator – Acworth, GA
Bradford Custom Homes & Remodeling is a high‑end custom home builder committed to quality, health, and performance. As an Estimator you shape budgets that directly influence every project.
Base Pay
$70,000 – $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
Eligibility for a performance‑based bonus in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for custom homes and complex remodels, including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and allowances.
Review plans, specifications, and design documents to understand scope, options, and cost drivers.
Develop and maintain accurate pricing databases, unit costs, and historical cost data.
Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure scope alignment and competitiveness.
Collaborate with the pre‑construction and design teams to refine scopes, value‑engineer solutions, and align budgets with client expectations.
Assist in developing and updating project budgets used for client presentations and contracts.
Support handoff to production, clearly communicating assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions to project managers/builders.
Conduct site visits as needed to verify existing conditions, measure, and confirm assumptions, particularly for remodeling projects.
Continuously refine processes and tools (spreadsheets, templates, checklists) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Track and analyze actual job costs vs. estimates over time to improve future pricing and assumptions.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Residential Estimator in custom homes and/or large‑scale remodeling.
Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and trade scopes.
Experience with high‑end custom residential work.
Familiarity with construction management or estimating software.
Background working closely with pre‑construction/design teams.
A natural curiosity and a passion for “going down the rabbit hole” to understand the why behind systems, assemblies, and costs.
Comfort translating incomplete information into structured, logical estimates.
High proficiency in Excel or similar tools (formulas, pivot tables, data organization).
Strong analytical mindset with close attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and design drawings.
Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with designers, project managers, and leadership.
Willingness and ability to perform site visits as needed (valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required).
Authorization to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
