Job Summary Do you want to put a smile on a child's face? Do you want to improve the health of your community? As a Community Health Worker you will touch every aspect of our work developing a vast array of skills. You will provide assistance in our school clinics, teach children in their classrooms, and organize your assigned schools for services. Responsibilities
School-Based Dental Clinics - Assist or lead in setting up and cleaning up after the school-based dental clinics. In the clinic, serve as an unlicensed dental assistant to a dental provider.
Oral Health Education - Learn and teach RSS oral health curriculum in an engaging way with appropriate information.
Administration and Billing - Create treatment lists and other reports as requested, complete appropriate documentation.
Community Outreach & School Liaison - Act as the primary liaison to assigned schools, have a working relationship with the principal, school nurse, social worker, and or community liaison.
Teamwork - Exhibit excellent working relations with patients, visitors, and staff, effectively communicating RSS’s mission. Be a team player and consider the children we serve first in all your actions.
Qualifications REQUIRED
High school diploma or GED
Fluent in Spanish and English
Strong computer and data entry skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to provide high-quality patient care
Transportation/driver's license required
PREFERRED
Lived experience and understanding of the community served by RSS
Associate's or Bachelor's degree
Experience in dental office/clinic
