Responsibilities
Meet daily with the Service Manager and other operations personnel to discuss filling upcoming orders and demands for equipment.
Use repair orders to record all work performed and submit a list of equipment numbers completed each day.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety.
Oversee shipping/receiving responsibilities, including inspecting, storing, and retrieving inventory.
Drive and spot equipment in the yard.
Report all costs of equipment added to the fleet.
Be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 8 trailers; log hours spent on repairs.
Fabricate and weld, custom‑design and install interiors into trailers; work in a safe manner.
Qualifications & Requirements
High School diploma, GED, or two years verifiable equipment maintenance related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to perform math operations in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; apply basic algebra and geometry; calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Valid driver’s license issued in the state of employment.
Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Attention to detail and highly organized.
One to two years welding experience, including fabrication of metal parts and assemblies.
At least one year of experience performing FHWA inspections.
At least one year of experience troubleshooting and repairing ABS.
At least one year of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing brake components.
