Job Description
It is extremely important that you have the requisite experience and are able to hit the ground running. Knowledge of the anatomy of a PI case and experience managing a PI case load is required.
2 years minimum experience in PI (less than this will not be considered.)
Intake, Case Management, Insurance claims, Property Damage, Medical Requests, Demand Preparation
Knowledge of medical terms and insurance terms is a plus
Experience with Medicare and Medi‑Cal
Multitasking and detail-oriented
Manage a large volume of cases and client calls
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment
Be able to work as a team and individually
Excellent communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Motivated attitude
Know how to draft Demands and counter demands
Being able handle a large number of cases in pre‑litigation from A to Z (including but not limited to opening claims, handling PD, retrieving documents, summarizing the bills, giving recorded statement, clearing liability, and drafting demands)
Knowledge in P.I. case management (Abacus/Filevine), maintaining communication with the clients and insurance adjusters, writing settlement demands and counter demand letters, negotiating settlements and doctor/hospital liens, keeping client's files organized.
You would be in charge of obtaining investigative documents, reporting claims to Medi‑Cal/Medicare, monitoring the client’s ongoing medical treatment, gathering all medical records/bills, and preparing Demand packages. Must maintain quality customer service to clients, doctors and adjusters throughout the process. You will occasionally be conducting potential new client screenings/intakes in addition to managing your case load.
Experience in negotiating settlements a huge plus!!!
Must have great communication skills, well maintained professional appearance, great multi‑tasker, self‑starter and the ability to get things done. An individual who can problem‑solve and figure things out on their own.
