Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II Location: Portland, TN 37148 Shift: Day Shift / Central Time Zone – Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 1‑hour lunch from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Duration: 6+ months

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life‑defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The PSR II will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center or as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe and professional environment.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information/initials and obtain patient signature post‑venipuncture to ensure tubes were labeled in the patient’s presence and the name on the label is correct.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.

Job Requirements

Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.

Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.

Commit to all Policies & Procedures, including company dress code, employee health & safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.

Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In‑Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.

Demonstrate superior customer focus; communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; accelerate and embrace change; and possess knowledge of our business.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

1–3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.

Keyboard/data‑entry experience.

Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from the works site without issue (bus, Uber, rideshare is not reliable transportation). Must be available to work whenever scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination. Please ensure you are verifying the commute time to/from the physical work location when submitting candidates; candidates need to be within a 20‑25 minute commute window to ensure their ability to travel to/from the site for coverage.
