Job Title: Diesel Mechanic We are seeking a Diesel Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and repair equipment and vehicles. This includes working on electrical systems, brakes, hydraulics, cooling, power steering, engines, and other standard components. The role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance independently, adhering to manufacturer and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure the workplace follows 5S principles by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient environment.

Independently carry out maintenance servicing on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and/or Commercial Trucks following OEM specifications and company standards.

Transport GSE and/or Commercial Trucks safely and securely.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including basic electrical repairs, on a range of GSE and/or Commercial Trucks.

Utilize manuals to look up necessary repair information.

Conduct thorough inspections, including checking vehicle hours, fluid levels, lights, and overall condition, to ensure safety and operational compliance.

Report and discuss any damage or work outside the prescribed scope with a supervisor.

Perform refurbishing tasks, including fabrication, body work, painting, welding, and upholstery.

Prioritize tasks effectively to maintain productivity and meet customer requirements.

Perform on‑call responsibilities as required, responding promptly to urgent operational needs.

Essential Skills

Experience in preventive maintenance, hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.

Ability to diagnose and repair diesel and truck engines.

Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Proficiency in using mobile devices and relevant applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred but not required.

Must provide personal hand tools; specialized tools and diagnostic equipment are supplied.

Work Environment Work tasks are assigned via tablets, involving a range of maintenance activities from preventative maintenance (PMs) to light repairs mainly at IAD. The team consists of 20 mechanics and 1 manager. First and second shift available. The fleet primarily consists of diesel trucks, with a few gas engine trucks.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NJ, and fully onsite.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62,400.00 – $74,880.00 per year, plus health, dental, vision, STD/LTD, and life insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), vacation and sick leave, and a 401(k) with matching contributions.
