Responsibilities
Participate in outing planning and transportation.
Monitor staff compliance with policies, procedures, training expectations, and protocols.
Assist in investigating accidents, injuries, or other incidents requiring employee interviews and preparation of statements.
Provide training on treatment principles, including Behavioral Interventions, and generally assist the Residential Coordinator as needed.
AWARE residential specialists earn $21.00–$23.00 per hour.
Requirements Talents, skills, and abilities:
At least three years of experience or an associate degree in a Human Services field, or a bachelor’s degree and two years of related Human Services experience.
Ability to implement individual support plans under AWARE’s Unconditional Care Philosophy, including knowledge of behavioral techniques, interventions, skill‑building, and understanding of emotional and behavioral needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Computer literacy: navigate, record, and use performance‑based software and electronic medical record systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills to observe, report, learn resident care methods, and follow instructions.
