Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting mechanical design, maintenance, and capital projects in an industrial environment. This role involves managing projects from concept through completion, providing technical expertise during plant outages, and ensuring reliable and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through start‑up, including design development, cost estimation, material procurement, installation, and commissioning.
Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design, fabrication, and installation of mechanical systems and components.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives and plant performance goals are met.
Prepare engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and work scopes for project construction and maintenance.
Manage contractors and vendors during construction and outage work.
Track project budgets, schedules, and documentation throughout project execution.
Support maintenance and reliability efforts through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and equipment performance improvement.
Participate in plant shutdowns and outages, providing engineering support for equipment repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
Ensure adequate spare parts and equipment reliability measures are in place.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment installation, or outage project management.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Capability to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces while wearing appropriate PPE.
Willingness to work in industrial environments, including exposure to heat, noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to perform hands‑on tasks during equipment inspections and outages.
