Grand Rapids Metrology
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This individual supports the maintenance, accuracy, and proactive planning of all customer shipments and deliveries.
CRITICAL FUNCTIONS
Manage all customer interactions during pick-up and drop-off of equipment at Grand Rapids headquarters
General receiving of all incoming shipments and freight
Receipt of all customer equipment into our work order management system
Place all received customer equipment into the correct lab for calibration or repair
Shipping out of completed product and other general shipping requirements
End of day shipping report via UPS WorldShip
WHAT YOU’LL DO Shipping and Receiving:
Serve as main point of contact for all shipping and receiving functions and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Greet and provide assistance with all customer pick-up/drop off’s at GRM headquarters
Answer any customer questions related to shipping/receiving
Serve internal customers by providing prompt assistance and reliable logistics information to all departments
Inspect and receive all new and customer owned equipment including logging data into computer system plus notifying appropriate team members
Note any damages or discrepancies in recordkeeping system
Stage according to designated department/location
Facilitate equipment flow through GR headquarters by distributing to appropriate departments
For customer equipment that has been completed in-house, after notification, pick up and prepare equipment for outgoing shipment
Pack all outgoing shipment securely to minimize potential damages
Maintain inventory for packing as well as keeping the shop clean and orderly
Prepare transportation bills, packaging slips, and any other necessary documentation required for shipments; contacts various shipping partners to coordinate pickups as needed
Record all shipment data, such as weight, sizes, charges, etc. for recordkeeping purposes
Prepare for daily pick-up/drop-off times via UPS and work to coordinate daily shipping/receiving workflow around these to optimize shipping times
Support of Technicians and Other Office Functions
Answer phones and general customer support
Assist technicians with questions related to inventory, parts, and other logistics issues
Complete inventory validation / cycle counts as needed
Other tasks and projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
This role requires a high level of comfort learning and using multiple software systems
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs independently and repetitively throughout the day
Ability/certification to operate a forklift or willing to learn and obtain certification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Top notch computer skills especially with Microsoft Suite
