With a significant presence in California, we are looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Los Angeles or Orange office.

Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day oversight, monitoring, and detailed documentation of each stage of construction activities on a variety of projects involving transportation, water and building infrastructure.

Interpret plans, specifications, and applicable municipal, state and federal codes to ensure contract work complies with governing regulations and design requirements.

Monitor construction sites for safety violations, maintain daily activity logs with photographs, and review progress reports for contractor payments.

Conduct assessments in accordance with the Client’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and Procedures.

Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment in compliance with safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Provide Construction Safety and Security field services, including site safety and security reviews for equipment, personnel, work procedures, and traffic control.

Prepare daily inspection reports with photographs, cost estimates, and maintenance records, and submit them in a cost‑effective manner through our document control system.

Arrange, coordinate, and oversee technical assessments such as electrical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, welding, structural steel, and asphalt mixes.

Assist engineering consultants with collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and presenting geotechnical and survey monitoring data.

Coordinate test laboratory activities and compare contractor laboratory results with the QMO Database.

Lead a team of inspectors on larger projects, allocate inspection resources, and supervise construction oversight staff as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with civil construction inspection equipment and construction office engineering.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project scheduling software such as Primavera Project Planner, SureTrak, or Microsoft Project.

Strong communication and labor compliance monitoring skills.

Understanding of subcontracting laws, the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program, and related permits.

Detail‑oriented with accurate record‑keeping for work quantities.

10+ years of progressively responsible experience as a General Contractor, Resident Engineer, Lead Inspector, or Inspector on heavy construction and transit projects.

Experience with street‑running light rail, waterfront infrastructure, concrete rehabilitation, or similar projects is desirable.

Valid California Class C driver’s license and Cal‑OSHA/OSHA 30‑hour training certification.

IBC/ICC Certificate of Reinforced Concrete or Structural Masonry, or an ACIA Registered Construction Inspector License (or comparable Deputy Inspector License) is desirable.

Certification or the ability to obtain national quality standards (e.g., ICBO, NICET, ACI, AWS, ASQ) is a plus.

Compensation The expected salary for this position is $130,000‑$160,000. Individual pay is determined based on location, experience, and skills.
