Job Description
We are seeking a Therapist Counselor to join our team! You will provide recovery-oriented rehabilitation services in group or individual settings.
Responsibilities
Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
Offer assistance to individuals with substance abuse issues
Provide prevention-oriented therapy
Implement and review treatment plans
Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Duties
Participate in the development and implementation of the consumer’s Mental Health Assessment (at the initial meeting)
Document individual and family session notes for every encounter
Create Individual Treatment Plan (every six (6) months)
Provide individual, family, and/or group a minimum of forty-five minutes (45) each session
Attend mandatory bi-weekly meetings with the Clinical Director and weekly supervision by call or face-to-face; the first month requires a face-to-face meeting
Co‑create and implement Individual Treatment Plans
Provide discharge recommendations and summaries
Identify and address the client’s therapeutic needs and make necessary referrals
Complete incident reports per agency policy and procedures
Provide crisis intervention when needed
Offer individualized care and treatment consistent with/sensitive to the age and life‑span developmental needs of each client
Participate in clinical training, supervision treatment teams, and other clinical and educational activities
Participate in treatment team meetings as needed
Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, case managers, rehabilitation coordinators, and administrative staff
Perform other duties necessary for the continued operation of Keys
Execute any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience in mental health counseling or related fields
Familiarity with community mental health resources
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build rapport with clients
Strong leadership qualities
