Objectives of this Role

Prepare accurate mortgage application documentation for loans to meet Fannie/Freddie/FHLB/GNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, MI and in-house underwriting guidelines

Analyze and monitor receipt of credit and collateral documents

Provide Processing support for loan officers

Maintain compliance with all regulations throughout the application process

Confirm accuracy of application data through analysis and verifications.

Provide training and support within all areas of mortgage operations.

Ability to conduct a junior underwriting analysis of a loan for appropriate pre-approval.

Essential Functions

Prepare proper application and documentation to protect Bank’s interest and mitigate risk

Obtain processing documents to ensure timely issuance of loan commitments and closings (e.g., appraisal, title, income verification, asset verification; etc.)

Skilled ability to determine necessary documents for mortgage file, including collateral and regulatory documents through trained/learned experience with AUS and underwriting requirements.

Determine the validity and completeness of mortgage application and processing documents

Satisfactory review of all documents to meet all federal, state, secondary market and in-house underwriting and compliance guidelines

Scan and index documents in an accurate and organized fashion for submission to underwriting and proper submission to investors and/or auditors.

Clear all conditions from underwriting and release approved mortgage to closing

Prepare mortgage file and submit to closing in timely manner to remain compliant with guidelines.

Communication with the mortgage loan officers and customers as it relates to customers, applications, loan commitments, closings, lock expiration dates and documentation

Ability to effectively manage the entire pipeline to ensure timely completion of the mortgage process.

Main point of contact to ensure a seamless experience through the mortgage process.

Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic math and computer skills

Excellent communication (written and verbal), customer service, organization, and time management skills

Ability to handle high workload and maneuver through multiple tasks efficiently

Ability to pass a background check

Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency

Minimum of 5-7 years in mortgage loan processing is required

Knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA/Down Payment Assistance programs and their systems preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
