Project‑Based Narrative Designer (7+ month duration). On‑site in Santa Fe, NM or remote from eligible markets (Santa Fe, NM; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA). Salary starts at $70,000; varies by location and experience. Application deadline: 1/15/2026 (deadline may be extended at the company’s discretion). Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with project leads and developers to write and implement a robust catalogue of story‑driven quests across all Meow Wolf exhibitions. Integrate IP elements from Meow Wolf’s portfolio into questing for a deep, cross‑media experience. Define and maintain best practices for narrative design at Meow Wolf. Help integrate narrative questing design into universal game and interactive systems. Identify needs and parameters for narrative‑focused features within the questing ecosystem. Write, test, iterate on, and implement scripts and copy for all quests. Ensure quest content and dialogue meet Meow Wolf IP standards and priorities. Work with the media team to develop voiceover and other media scripts. Write, update, and maintain detailed design documentation. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or equivalent education and experience. 8+ years of game development experience, including at least one shipped title in a Lead role. Experience as a writer/developer on a quest‑like system, preferably in a Lead or decision‑making role. Strong ability to partner and collaborate across multiple teams and disciplines. Skill in creating exciting, memorable, and engaging characters. Guest/player‑focused mindset for an exciting, frictionless Questing experience. Familiarity with constraints of writing within existing IP. Experience with AR, VR, or MR design, bridging physical and digital experiences preferred. Familiarity with ARGs and next‑gen storytelling systems preferred. Ability to author strong content across various media (games, screenwriting, prose, etc.). Passion for innovative storytelling across a kaleidoscope of genres. Creative problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Preference for working with large, cross‑discipline creative teams. Work Environment & Physical Demands

The role is remote‑friendly with optional travel to Meow Wolf locations. Work involves sedentary computer‑based tasks: writing, reviewing scripts, documentation, and using digital collaboration tools. Physical demands include prolonged sitting, use of standard office equipment, and occasional light lifting up to 15 lbs. Travel (10‑25%) may involve walking and standing during onsite reviews or playtests. Work Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Typical hours 9 AM–5 PM MT or 10 AM–6 PM MST, Monday–Friday. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for project milestones. Travel
