Position Description:

Immediate hiring of a Permanent Full‑Time Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Bridgeton, MO.

Hourly Pay: $34.38 per hour.

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.

Sign‑on Bonuses: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days.

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, Second Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am.

We want the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us to work on heavy‑duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.

Complete standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs.

Undertake preventive maintenance.

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable.

Identify root causes of basic failures or conditions and perform repairs as required.

Replace defective components as instructed.

Perform facility maintenance duties.

Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of a complaint once assigned a task.

Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).

Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.

Basic tools are required.

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work.

Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in the required area preferred.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred; must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.

Pass a Ryder drug test.

Pass a DOT physical.

Pass a Ryder road test.

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Some positions require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, or background requirements of the customer to whom you are assigned.
