Job Summary Client is currently seeking Fulltime Mechanical Engineers to join our team in our Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidates will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers preparing modification packages for mechanical and piping systems serving the nuclear power industry.

Requirements

ny new hire will be required to be within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC office.

We are looking mid to senior level, i.e. 5-12 years of experience in Mechanical engineering, supporting power generation within

(5 years $100k - $120k, 8 years $120k - $140k, 12 years $140k - $160k)

This is a nuclear project supporting a power and natural gas company.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university

Minimum of 5, 8 to 12 years of relevant experience depending on level in the mechanical engineering field, with 2, 5, to 8 years supporting nuclear work.

The ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Preferred Qualifications

Power and natural gas company's nuclear experience.

Master of Science Degree in mechanical or nuclear engineering preferred.

Professional Engineering (PE) license in US.

Experience with fluid flow software (AFT FATHOM, PROTO-FLO, KYPIPE, or Equivalent).

Experience with Fire Protection and Detection Systems.

Responsibilities

Develop design modification packages for mechanical systems at a nuclear power plant, such as piping modifications, system reconfigurations, valve and traveling screen replacements.

Perform engineering calculations such as hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, HVAC sizing, heat load analysis, and pressure loss calculations.

Develop mechanical design and procurement specifications.

Prepare engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Plan, Piping Orthographic and Isometric drawings.

Develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.

Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.

Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start up activities as required.
