The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the office to meet customer load and revenue targets by developing long‑term relationships with carriers, providing unmatched service in the transportation industry. The Carrier Sales Representative will strive to keep our company competitive and innovative while exemplifying the Mission, Vision and Values of the company.

Solicit potential and existing carriers to cover customer orders

Dispatching, tracking and tracing of shipments with carriers once loaded and relaying information to customers to ensure issues are resolved timely and customers updated

Maintain carrier relationships with the goal of growing the volume of business with key carriers

Carrier sourcing, recruitment, development and management

Develop a trusted advisor relationship with carrier contacts

Identify and grow opportunities and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth as budgeted

Prospect new carriers

Have competent understanding of how transportation systems operate, including order process, updates, and claim management

Support A/R functions to ensure timely payment of service

Achieve budgeted targets for cases/loads and profit by assigned carriers

Communicate to General Manager as needed to update situations of concerns or to ask questions regarding an unknown area of responsibility

Have competent understanding of how various company software operates, with knowledge of the order process and reporting options

Communicate with sales team within division and outside to collaborate for opportunities

Excellent presentation and demonstration skills both in a group setting and, on the phone

Command of PC Windows environment including Microsoft Office

Excellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skills

Strong organizational skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines
