Role Overview The Account Manager I supports the administration and ongoing compliance of IEDC’s incentive programs by serving as a primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of companies. This role is responsible for administering incentive agreements, processing tax credit certifications and grant payments, and collecting and analyzing company‑reported data to ensure contractual compliance. The Account Manager I works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support economic development projects and deliver responsive, professional client service.

This position is well suited for candidates seeking to build expertise in public‑sector economic development, contract administration and compliance within a fast‑paced, mission driven organization.

Salary Statement The salary for this position is $56,770 annually.

A Day in the Life

Serve as the main point of contact for assigned portfolio of companies receiving IEDC economic development incentives

Provides clear, accurate, and timely guidance to companies regarding incentives program requirements, reporting obligations and timelines

Administer and maintain incentive agreements, tax credit certifications, and grant payment documentations

Collect, review, and analyze employment, payroll, qualified investment, grant payment, and tax credit data submitted by companies

Coordinate with business development, redevelopment, and compliance staff to support project execution and verify contractual compliance

Monitors annual reporting requirements and follow up with companies to ensure timely and complete submissions

Identifies potential compliance concerns or project changes (e.g., layoffs, closures, restructurings) and escalates issues as appropriate.

Maintains complete, well‑organized electronic files detailed notes in IEDC systems

Responds to management and internal stakeholder inquiries related to company performance and incentive status

Deliver high‑quality services while meeting or exceeding departmental performance metrics

Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need for Success Education

Bachelor’s Degree, business/accounting/finance preferred

Experience

2‑3 years of experience in business, accounting, finance, compliance or customer account management preferred

Demonstrated experience analyzing data using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Experience delivering consistent, professional customer service

Ability to

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail

Ability to interpret contractual and program requirements within a public‑sector environment

Ability to understand intergovernmental relationships affecting the Indiana economic development programs

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a team‑oriented environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
