Established in 1979, Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery (VSON) is seeking a highly skilled and board-certified/board-eligible Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon to join our team. Currently, we have one neurosurgeon and two physiatrists who are looking for an additional ortho spine surgeon to provide spine care. The ideal candidate will deliver advanced, patient-centered spine care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary orthopaedic and neurosurgical environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a physician-owned group with a reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and strong community engagement.
We will offer a competitive guaranteed salary ($350,000 - $600,000) with the ability to become a partner in 1-2 years depending on experience and performance . VSON partners enjoy significant ancillary revenue sources that a new partner would be eligible to participate in, including potential investing in multiple surgery centers, having 2 in-office MRI’s and 3 x-ray machines, our own Physical Therapy group, and providing our own durable medical equipment to our patients.
Additional compensation benefits could range from $100,000 - $500,000.
The Details of the Job Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct physical examinations using medical instruments and equipment to assess mobility and strength.
Administer or order tests, analyses, and diagnostic images; analyze reports and findings.
Oversee maintenance of case histories and medical records.
Diagnose conditions and administer or prescribe treatments, medications, and rehabilitation as applicable.
Perform surgery.
Attend to patients in clinic or hospital and reexamine disability cases periodically to verify progress.
Monitor effectiveness of pain management interventions (e.g., medications, spinal injections).
Document examination results, treatment plans, and patient outcomes.
Participate in the on call schedule handling orthopaedic trauma cases from a Level 3 ER.
Participate in our walkin orthopaedic clinic on a rotating basis, including rapid assessment of acute injuries and triage of surgical candidates.
Use proper infection control procedures adopted by affiliated surgery centers and hospitals.
Meet company expectations and maintain confidentiality of PII in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Perform duties in accordance with all company safety practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Certificates
Doctorate in Medicine (M.D. or D.O.).
Graduate of an accredited spine surgery fellowship program
Experience working as an orthopaedic spine surgeon preferred, but we will consider new graduates
