Key Responsibilities
Achieve sales and gross profit goals within a defined territory and/or market by proactively seeking new business opportunities within existing customer base & new leads.
Work closely with assigned, existing, and potential customers in a defined territory.
Maintain customer relations & files (current quotes, correspondence, plans, problems, etc.) and update customer information in the computer system.
Enter quotes and orders into the computer system while on the phone with the customer.
Advise District Sales Managers (DSMs) of all pending quotations, bids, leads, competitive information, and sales possibilities.
Establish GP% to be used in bids, process return authorizations, send out correspondence & literature, and work on back‑order reports.
Maintain close contact with the Purchasing Department (advise of low/high stock levels, competitive market prices, and vendor pricing discrepancies).
Participate in vendor shows, in‑house product training, association meetings, and P&T training.
Additional Key Responsibilities
Transmit a daily order sales summary to the National Sales Manager.
Issue direct/drop shipments and POs when required.
Daily enter and review QSAs.
Send daily activity reports to GM and ISM.
Assist in planning, designing and launching email promos.
Process VISA, Mastercard, debit card payments.
AR follow‑up & calls to customers.
Product search (e.g., substitutes, approximate for specific applications).
Negotiate prices.
POs for "Drop Ship" tickets.
Skills Needed
Attention to detail, clear phone voice and excellent communication skills a must.
Customer/Employee relations using motivation and diplomacy in difficult situations.
Flexible to change, general computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, organization, and selling skills.
Minimum Educational Requirements High School Diploma. A college degree is preferred, but is not required.
Experience Required The successful candidate will have 1 to 2 years of previous sales or Customer Service experience. Wholesale distribution experience is preferred, but is not required.
