The Major Market Sales Manager at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas is a highly competent individual with progressive experience in hotel sales. This role is responsible for selling guest rooms, meeting space, and other Hyatt services to customer groups; managing assigned accounts; and conducting site inspections. The position actively solicits and generates business while building and maintaining strong client relationships across major markets.

We are looking for a passionate, goal‑oriented team player who enjoys achieving results in a collaborative environment. The Major Market Sales Manager is expected to be actively involved in leading, mentoring, and training sales administrators and other team members, contributing to overall team effectiveness and development. This role requires a high level of organization, discipline, and follow‑through, including consistent and proper client and internal follow‑ups.

The salary for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. This is the pay range for this position that the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Responsibilities

Acquiring, retaining, and reactivating clients through effective proposals

Maintaining well‑organized documentation and reports

Using Hyatt systems

Coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate

Participating in and possibly leading events, sales, and other staff meetings

Working closely with sales and events teams, as well as assigned administrative and support staff

Frequent travel to trade shows, corporate events, client engagements, and other industry functions to actively represent Grand Hyatt Indian Wells and Villas and drive new business opportunities

Qualifications

In‑house preferred; open to a remote Sales Manager based on the West Coast

Prior experience selling to group, association, or corporate markets is mandatory

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment

Highly effective organizational skills, including consistent and proper follow‑ups

Refined verbal and written communication skills

A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales or comparable experience preferred

Proficient in general computer knowledge; knowledge of Hyatt systems preferred

Strong selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills preferred

Ability and willingness to travel frequently for trade shows, corporate events, and other sales‑related engagements
