Sports Medicine Associate Sales Representative (Birmingham, AL)
Smith+Nebhew invites applications for the Sports Medicine Associate Sales Representative position in Birmingham, AL. Join our Sports Medicine Sales Team to provide technical support and surgical solutions.
What will you be doing? Your role includes working in assigned hospital accounts to provide clinical case coverage in the operating room, securing inventory, observing surgeries, consulting the surgical team on Smith+Nebhew instrumentation and implants, and completing all logistical requirements. You will collaborate with sales representatives, orthopedic surgeons, hospital staff, administrators, and clinicians, while assimilating advanced technical information regarding surgical procedures.
What will you need to be successful? Become a technical expert in our Sports Medicine portfolio through structured training and assessments. Build rapport with surgeons and hospital staff to deliver data‑driven solutions. Collaborate with teammates to develop an effective territory business plan, generate revenue, and meet or exceed quota. Work team‑oriented, detail‑focused, and flexible to untraditional hours.
Ideal Candidate
High school or college graduate or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years sales experience in the medical device industry (preferred)
Preferred experience selling orthopedic products in healthcare
Proven track record selling at the surgeon or hospital level
Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives
Travel Requirements Travel within designated sales territory with 2‑4 overnight stays per month; occasional national travel for events and conferences.
