Position Summary Senior Manager, Strategic Operations for the CDTO organization is a critical, high‑impact role responsible for driving strategic planning, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness across Pharmacy Services Digital & Technology (PS DDAT) unit and the Strategy Office of the CDTO. As an integral part of the Strategy office, this leader will serve as a trusted advisor, integrator, and force multiplier – ensuring that the CDTO’s vision is translated into actionable plans and measurable outcomes at scale.

This highly organized and results‑oriented leader will take charge of operational excellence, ensure cross‑function strategic alignment, and improve team effectiveness within the PS DDAT organization. This role will spearhead strategic initiatives, facilitate leadership meetings, and manage key communications across leaders and PS DDAT towers. They will collaborate with PS DDAT tower leads to create and execute cross‑functional strategies that align with organizational objectives. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must have strong technical and business acumen, exceptional relationship‑building skills, outstanding organizational and communication abilities, and understand how to harmonize competing interests.

Strategy and Planning

As a key member of the Strategy Office, execute and advance the PS DDAT org’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment across all PS DDAT towers and functions

Translate strategies into actionable plans, initiatives, and metrics, and communicate that vision to the company and externally as needed

Drive operational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement, implementing leading practices, and optimizing processes to enhance workforce efficiency and effectiveness

Coordinate with strategy office on cross‑functional, high‑impact change initiatives, from ideation through execution for driving engagement and measurement

Support strategy office of the CDTO in preparing for leadership staff meetings, executive discussion, colleague events and external presentations, ensuring all materials reflect PS DDAT brand and reputation

Facilitate management governance, tracking status, resolving issues, and escalating concerns, as necessary

Operational Excellence

Oversee daily management operations of the CDTO office, ensuring the executive team’s focus remains on high‑priority initiatives and that operational bottlenecks are proactively addressed

Provide direct support to the strategy office of the CDTO, prepare for and running of key team and cross‑functional meetings such as leadership meetings, monthly business reviews, board meetings, and occasional off‑sites/on‑sites

Facilitate effective cadence meetings, including agenda setting, content development, and follow‑up on action items

Implement tools and processes to drive adoption of technology strategies and improve organizational efficiency. Establish scalable processes, systems, and workflows to improve operational efficiency within the organization

Maintain a rolling quarterly plan for the CDTO organization, tracking progress, risks, dependencies and escalating concerns, as necessary. Monitor and report on the progress of strategic initiatives, holding teams accountable for results

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Serve as a liaison between the CDTO office and the leadership team, fostering effective communication and alignment of goals and initiatives

Work closely with the entire leadership team to ensure alignment and drive key initiatives and to advance PS DDAT goals

Serve as a central point of coordination between the CDTO office and other DDAT, business units, fostering collaboration and transparency

Organizational Development & Culture

Build connections across the enterprise, identifying and nurturing relationships that drive innovation, alignment, and cultural cohesion

Support hiring, onboarding, and talent development initiatives within the technology organization

Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, and help shape a high‑performing culture

Ability to translate high‑level strategic goals into actionable roadmaps and initiatives, ensuring alignment across teams

Serve as a liaison for cross‑functional teams to enhance collaboration and operational excellence

Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and professional development

Support communication strategies to articulate priorities, progress, and impact to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Experience working with senior leadership and facilitating communication across diverse teams

Proficiency in analyzing metrics and using data to inform strategies and processes

Ability to see the big picture and align team goals with organizational priorities. Experience in developing and executing long‑term strategies

Expertise in streamlining workflows, optimizing processes, and managing resources effectively. Knowledgeable in product mindset, of Agile or Lean methodologies

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to represent the leadership vision clearly. Ability to act as a liaison between teams and senior leadership.

Exceptional presentation skills and ability to summarize and articulate thoughts and ideas to senior leaders

Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally and build trusted relationships across product, engineering, and executive teams

Strong interpersonal skills to lead without direct authority. Ability to mentor and coach team members to align with the leader’s goals

Analytical mindset to tackle challenges and develop creative solutions. Flexibility to handle shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Familiarity with software engineering processes, tools, and frameworks. Understanding of AI concepts, cloud, DevOps, or software architecture concepts

7+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, technology management, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

Act as a strategic advisor to the VP and key leaders, whenever situation demands

Produce clear and compelling executive messaging on complex topics under tight deadlines

Collaborate with vendors and in‑house talent to support the tech execution strategy

Adapt recommendations based on an evolving environment and share insights from the broader company

Develop key performance metrics to measure effectiveness

Maintains high degree of confidentiality and discretion

Self‑starter with a proactive mindset

Ability to handle ambiguity and navigate complex organizational dynamics

Experience in healthcare, PBM, insurance, or financial services.

Demonstrated experience in managing cross‑functional teams, driving operational excellence, or leading strategic initiatives

Experience in driving the operating models for large, cross‑functional organizations

Travel As needed up to 15‑25%

Education

MBA or master’s degree in engineering, technology management, or related field.

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 – $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
