The organization focuses on providing occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapy and coordinated multi-disciplinary care in the greater Chattanooga community. The position is full-time (32-40 hours per week) and includes benefits, continuing education dollars, holidays, and paid time off. Summary

The Events Specialist coordinates the development, planning, implementation, and oversight of Special Kids events, programs, and organizational celebrations. The role collaborates with volunteer committees, community organizations, vendors, and board members to deliver programming, maintain communications with sponsors and donors, and achieve sustainable growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Annual Planning: coordinate the development and management of the annual event plan, maximize community value, align marketing calendars, and publicize events early to avoid schedule conflicts. Event Planning, Promotion, and Execution: develop event organization structure, manage community relations, vendors, contracts, in-kind donors, venues, and event communications. Create timelines, budgets, logistics, staffing, volunteers, suppliers, and promotion schedules. Financial Management: meet financial goals, monitor expenses, track revenue, work with finance staff to report variances, and solicit, maintain, and grow sponsorship relationships. Administration: establish priorities, timelines, budgets, and work plans; document all communications in the customer-relationship management system; represent the organization at fundraising and community events. Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred. Experience: 3-5 years in a related field, preferably non-profits or fundraising, managing travel and events, with experience handling budgets over $500,000. Computer skills: basic proficiency with software and web-based applications; ability to learn new platforms. Certifications: CPR certification recommended; no other certifications required.
