About the Property The Houston Marriott Westchase is one of the largest full‑service Marriott hotels in Houston, featuring 604 guest rooms and over 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including a 10,000‑square‑foot Grand Ballroom, two executive boardrooms, and 18 additional meeting rooms.

What You’ll Do As a Business Transient Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving corporate and negotiated transient business for one of Houston’s largest full‑service Marriott hotels. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact hotel performance while building strong, long‑term client relationships.

Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of Business Transient and Local Negotiated Rate (LNR) accounts to maximize room revenue and market share.

Identify, solicit, and secure new corporate transient business through proactive sales calls, networking, and market outreach.

Manage the RFP process for assigned accounts, including pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and account renewals.

Partner closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Hotel Operations to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.

Analyze market trends, account performance, and competitive data to uncover opportunities for revenue growth.

Represent the hotel at client meetings, site inspections, trade shows, and industry networking events.

Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate travel managers, TMCs, and key decision makers.

Track account activity and performance using Marriott systems and CRM tools to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.

Deliver exceptional service to assigned accounts, ensuring repeat business and long‑term loyalty.

Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing sales team culture focused on accountability, results, and continuous improvement.

Experience

Must have 3+ years of progressive sales experience.

Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred; experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred.

Position Classification & Work Schedule

This position is classified as Non‑Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The role is scheduled to work 9 hours per day, totaling 45 hours per week.

Overtime will be paid in accordance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.

Must be available to work holidays, weekends, evenings/nights if the hotel or business needs require.

Work schedule may vary based on operational demands, client needs, and business levels.

Physical Demands

Primarily sedentary work performed in an office or hotel environment.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a computer, attending meetings, or conducting sales calls.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via electronic communication.

Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and related technology.

Occasional walking throughout the hotel property to attend meetings, site tours, or internal collaboration.

Occasional local travel for sales calls, client meetings, networking events, or site inspections.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate with guests, clients, team members, and vendors.
