Program Development
Attends all required training and workshops.
Stays current on Head Start Program Performance Standards, federal, state and applicable regulations.
Collaborates with parents, education staff, and Parent Committee members to develop a home base curriculum that meets individual needs and supports family goals.
Prepares weekly home visit plans with parents, including objectives that support family interests, needs and goals.
Develops individual plans with parents for child goal setting based on social, emotional and cognitive development.
Promotes children's school readiness skills based on program goals, OHS Early Learning Outcomes, and PA Early Learning Standards.
Schedules and documents weekly home visits and monthly socialization experiences.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding children, families and staff as per policy.
Assists parents in creating and sustaining a safe, healthy learning environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Program Implementation
Coordinates and supervises all home base activities, field trips and socialization events.
Plans and delivers developmentally and linguistically appropriate curriculum and experiences for each child’s age, language and culture.
Directs special needs concerns to the appropriate Manager.
Provides each family with weekly 90‑minute home visits in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Offers family‑centered services to facilitate child development and help families identify interests, articulate strengths and needs, and set goals.
Links families with support systems and resources, assisting them to identify appropriate practices that complement child development stages.
Works with families to implement learning/educational goals through activities and everyday interactions that promote school readiness and lifelong learning.
Implements home‑based education lesson plans and weekly programs for each family according to the child’s needs.
Supports social and emotional development and provides positive guidance and discipline.
Maintains professionalism and continues own professional development.
Ensures a purposeful program responsive to families as lifelong educators.
Screen, observe and document information about children as required to engage parents in progress conversations.
Collaborates with other agencies providing services to HS/EHS children and families.
Provides transportation in agency vehicles as needed.
Understand regulations related to occupational health, universal precautions and contamination prevention.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Recordkeeping
Submits weekly schedule to supervisor.
Submits monthly progress reports to supervisor.
Monitors supplies and maintains inventory as requested.
Submits monthly bills and reports to main office promptly.
Maintains child records, including completion of home visit plans, health services, screenings, immunizations and referrals.
Collects and maintains individual, family and classroom data for assessments, evaluations and record‑keeping.
Documents in‑kind and other allowable costs for the non‑federal share requirement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Parent Engagement and Community Relations
Ensures program parent engagement needs are met.
Establishes positive, productive, and nurturing relationships with families based on trust and rapport.
Supports and participates in parent orientation to program services.
Facilitates monthly Parent Committee meetings for the home base program.
Schedules and arranges meetings; documents socializations and home visits as required.
Participates in parent training as requested.
Acts as a single point of contact to help families obtain required services and resources.
Demonstrates competency to plan and implement home‑based learning experiences.
