Position Overview We are prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor called by God to shepherd our congregation, faithfully preach the Word, and lead us in fulfilling Christ’s mission. The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church, modeling Christlike character, sound doctrine, and a heart for people. This role requires a commitment to biblical preaching, pastoral care, and leadership consistent with Southern Baptist beliefs and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Preach expository, biblically faithful sermons grounded in the whole counsel of God
Lead the church in worship, prayer, discipleship, and evangelism
Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to members
Oversee and administer the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper in accordance with Southern Baptist doctrine
Equip and mentor ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers
Guide the church in mission involvement, including local outreach and global missions through the Southern Baptist Convention, Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, and Cooperative Program
Work with deacons and church leadership to develop and implement a God‑honoring vision
Uphold and teach the doctrines and values affirmed in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Qualifications
A clear testimony of salvation and a life that reflects biblical qualifications for pastors as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
A demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry
Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Experience in pastoral leadership (senior or associate role)
Strong preaching, teaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills
A heart for evangelism, discipleship, missions, and shepherding God’s people
Ability to relate to and minister across generations within the church family
