Construction Resources (CR) is a leading building products distributor serving the Southeast with a portfolio that includes countertops, appliances, lighting, garage doors, fireplaces, flooring, and more. As we expand into the Charleston market, The Outside Salesperson will work with clients to provide successful customer experience. The Outside Salesperson will generate sales of all products. They will work with existing customers and secure prospective new customers and clients by phone, e-mail and direct office appointments providing detailed information on product specifications, services, pricing and delivery and install scheduling. Will focus on builders, designers, remodelers, as well as retail customers. Will also represent Construction Resources at NKBA, NARI, and various HBA events.
Outside Customer Service Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Work with national account manager to address field issues and provide final solutions
Help communicate job readiness
Provide excellent sales support and customer experience to all accounts
Develop and maintain relationships with all accounts
Visit jobsites as needed to provide the required sales support
Communicate lead times and work with scheduling changes
Follow up phone calls to secure orders
Resolve customer issues
Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
Work retail leads as provided, especially on fireplaces and surrounds
Conduct sales presentations of products and services to customers
Collect deposits and balances before delivery
Experience
3‑5 years experience/hands‑on knowledge within construction industry product sales
Self‑motivated, driven to close sales
Ability to communicate at all levels, both inside and outside the Company
Computer literate; working knowledge of MS Office
Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
Skills and Experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships
Proven ability to generate leads, conduct prospecting activities, and close sales opportunities
Experience managing a sales pipeline and meeting/exceeding sales goals or quotas
Solid negotiation and presentation skills; comfortable with face‑to‑face meetings and product demonstrations
Self‑motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
Willingness to travel within assigned territory as needed
