We are seeking an Account Manager to report directly to the CEO and play a key leadership role in overseeing client accounts and junior bookkeepers.
Compensation $60,000‑$70,000 per year depending on experience
Job Type Fully Remote Position
Role Overview The Account Manager serves as the bridge between our clients and our bookkeeping team. This role is responsible for client communication, quality control, and oversight of junior bookkeepers to ensure accurate, timely, and high‑quality financials. This is not primarily a data‑entry or reconciliation role. While you will not be performing day‑to‑day reconciliations, you must have the technical expertise to review work, identify issues, and ensure proper accounting treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned bookkeeping and fractional CFO clients
Communicate with clients regarding financials, questions, and ongoing needs
Review monthly bookkeeping work for accuracy and completeness
Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations performed by junior bookkeepers
Ensure proper transaction categorization and accounting treatment
Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information and guide corrections
Maintain high quality‑control standards across assigned accounts
Coach and support junior bookkeepers
Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior team to improve systems and workflows
Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits & credits, balance sheet vs. P&L, accrual vs. cash, etc.)
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Must be available full‑time Monday through Friday
Education
Accounting degree preferred but not required
If no accounting degree, significant hands‑on bookkeeping or accounting experience is required
Interview Process Qualified candidates should expect a technical portion of the interview process to assess accounting knowledge and ability to review bookkeeping work.
