Job Summary A Business Development Associate – RIA partners closely with the Business Development Director to identify, source, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities within a defined territory. BD Associates support Business Development Directors and Consultants with lead qualification and administration, ensuring strong coordination across the sales process. This includes supporting outbound sales and marketing campaigns, driving qualified leads through proactive prospect engagement, and helping to expand relationships with existing advisor clients. The Associate plays a key role in supporting Envestnet’s growth among RIA firms by managing the early stages of the sales process, coordinating outreach activities, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of opportunities for the field team.

Job Responsibilities

Partner with Business Development Directors to build and expand client relationships across the assigned territory, driving revenue growth and sales performance.

Source and qualify new sales opportunities through proactive outbound calling, email outreach, and campaign follow‑up, leveraging insights from market data and CRM systems.

Support the development and execution of territory sales plans, identifying high‑potential firms and opportunities for managed account adoption and platform expansion.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date opportunity data and pipeline information in Salesforce and other CRM tools.

Deliver sales collateral, presentations, and proposals to facilitate the sales process in partnership with the Business Development Director.

Assist in managing and coordinating the contracting and onboarding process for new advisor clients.

Actively engage with clients and prospects via phone and email, ensuring all communications and interactions are consistently documented in the CRM.

Conduct market research to identify prospective firms, decision‑makers, and target segments; generate awareness and interest in Envestnet solutions.

Support sales trip planning by identifying target prospects, scheduling meetings, and preparing materials for the Business Development Director.

Cross‑sell additional Envestnet products and services to existing advisor clients, helping to deepen platform adoption and wallet share.

Actively leverage Salesforce and the suite of sales enablement tools to track progress, measure impact, and optimize efficiency.

Adhere to all Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, and business continuity policies, ensuring timely completion of training, certifications, and affirmations.

Support and promote Envestnet’s corporate business practices, internal controls, and procedures designed to create value and minimize risk.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

3–5+ years of inside sales or business development experience, ideally within financial services, wealth management, or fintech.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with a confident phone presence and ability to engage senior advisor audiences.

Collaborative team player with a growth mindset and a passion for generating new business opportunities.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.

Highly motivated, results‑oriented, and eager to learn and advance within a sales organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce).

Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, and professional integrity.
