About Gerdau Gerdau is the leading company in the production of long steel in the Americas and one of the major suppliers of specialty long steel in the world. We are completing 125 years of history in 2026. The company is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil and has two business divisions in North America.

This position is at Gerdau’s special steel division (headquartered in Jackson, MI), which produces high‑quality engineered carbon and alloy special bar quality (SBQ) steel bars for safety‑critical applications used by the automotive, commercial vehicle, construction, agricultural, distribution, and energy markets.

Basic Function You will be our subject‑matter expert on our main end‑markets and will focus on gathering the intelligence we need to succeed for another 125 years. The Sr. Market Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in the Marketing and Sales team by performing market research, leading our market forecasting process, and being the organizational reference in competitive analysis.

Nature and Scope

Develop a method to research and obtain appropriate market data.

Lead analysis of statistics (shipments, market share, imports, exports).

Analyze steel‑consuming market activities to gauge changes in demand.

Develop executive presentations and present to leadership.

Contribute to the strategic roadmap and annual planning.

Lead external market‑intelligence activities with associations.

Principal Accountabilities

Market Intelligence and Market Research

Monitor and communicate performance and latest news for main end‑markets.

Execute statistical models for market‑segment forecasting and improve them.

Regularly analyze statistics for Gerdau’s product groups.

Lead and support medium‑ and long‑term market studies.

Emerging Trends and Imports

Monitor emerging trends such as electrification and digitalization.

Translate trend impacts through studies and presentations.

Develop relationships with stakeholders across Gerdau divisions and customers.

Create import reports for relevant industries.

Competitive Intelligence

Monitor competitors and inform the organization with concise analysis.

Monitor Gerdau product positioning and propose improvements.

Executive Presentations and Reporting

Produce analysis for annual planning and short‑ and long‑term impact.

Generate routine reports and support as needed.

Support Sales and Marketing for customer visits and events.

Events and Branding

Support creation of marketing collateral.

Lead and support organization of customer events and marketing communications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related area.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in market research, marketing strategy, or related analytical roles.

Innovative thinking and proactive mindset.

Ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Multitasking capability across strategic initiatives.

Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Drive strategic initiatives without regular follow‑ups.

Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.

Willingness to travel approximately six times a year.

In‑office position based out of Jackson, MI.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA preferred but not required.

Prior experience in the steel or automotive industry.
