JOB SUMMARY Responsible for creating and executing creative graphic designs, visual designs, and artwork for projects as required, ensuring alignment with Universal Destination & Experiences design quality and brand standards, and seeking IP approval when necessary. This role involves collaborating closely with various teams across Universal Kids Resort to develop and execute creative work on time and within budget.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates design concepts and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts; applies knowledge of requirements for Theme Park Signage/Graphics to concept and designs of Signage/Graphics. Understands and adheres to ADA guidelines as they pertain to signage. Determines size and arrangement of illustrative materials, copy, selects style and size of type, and understands and implements corporate branding, layout, color theory, and typography in both digital and print media.

Partners with Revenue Operations, Entertainment Technical Services, and Operational leadership to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned projects. Participates in creative and conceptual brainstorming sessions, maintains effective relationships with UDX-wide Shared Services Team Members, and promotes a collaborative work environment.

Develops designs and implements graphic features across the resort including but not limited to Attraction signage, menu design improvements, walkway signs, and labels. Ensures consistent application of design IP quality and brand standards, maintains library of Signage Standards and Guidelines presentation art images and decks, and stays current on latest design trends in graphic design and advertising.

Plans and manages multiple assignments and prioritizes accordingly. Tracks projects and regularly keeps key stakeholders updated on status. Works directly with leadership to manage workload balance. Completes projects on time and on budget.

Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Individual Contributor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with a wide array of media including digital, print, broadcast, online, outdoor, and events/displays.

Experience in like industry (travel, tourism, entertainment) and with like targets/demographics a plus.

Understanding of design applications including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Keynote/PowerPoint.

Understanding of printing process, photography, digital design, illustration, and typography.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required.

EXPERIENCE

3 years of experience in Graphic Design, Advertising or Marketing is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
