Role: SEO Manager Overview The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager is responsible for leading, researching, creating, and implementing robust SEO strategies that are focused on growing the organic presence for our clients. This person will work closely with all our internal teams to deliver high‑quality results.
Core Responsibilities
Maintain a strong understanding of clients’ goals, business needs, and customer intent.
Lead holistic SEO + AIO strategy to improve visibility across traditional search engines and emerging answer engines (Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, Gemini, etc.).
Create and execute data‑driven plans to improve rankings, visibility, and entity authority.
Lead technical SEO, content optimization, and on‑page/off‑page initiatives, including structured data improvements.
Identify opportunities to improve site experience, content quality, and technical performance.
Conduct keyword, intent, and answer‑engine query research; build keyword and entity topic groups.
Serve as an internal/external expert on SEO, AIO, and AI‑driven search trends.
Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc performance reports.
Complete detailed SEO audits covering technical, content, and authority factors.
Ensure new pages follow SEO and AIO best practices, including technical optimizations, content structure, and schema.
Provide monthly on‑page recommendations supporting established strategy.
Grow off‑site authority through content placement, digital PR, and entity‑building tactics.
Perform monthly local brand audits to maintain optimized Google Business Profiles.
Lead SEO/AEO training and contribute to documentation and best practices.
Stay current with SEO, generative search, AI ranking updates, and digital experience trends.
Support company success through additional marketing and operational projects as needed.
Skills Required
Proficiency using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
Proficiency using SEMRush, Screaming Frog and/or other related SEO tools
Working knowledge of coding standards and best practices
Proficiency in developing and managing link building strategies for clients
Experience
3 years experience across Content & Technical SEO; agency experience strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or other Business discipline preferred, but not required
Demonstrable knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the SEO industry
Strong organization, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times
