Generations Healthcare is looking for a

Prep Cook

to join our team of dedicated staff in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

Salary: $18.50 - $20.00 DOE – Per Diem Positions Available

Responsibilities

Inspect special diet trays to ensure correct diet is served to residents.

Complete administrative requirements and submit necessary forms and reports to the Director of Food Services.

Coordinate food services with other departments.

Collaborate with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes.

Ensure all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.

Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appealing in appearance.

Serve food following established portion control procedures.

Prepare food for therapeutic diets as planned.

Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.

Qualifications

Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED.

Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

Strong written, oral, and reading English communication skills.

Capacity to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.

Knowledge of food procedures.

Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Maintenance of supplies, equipment, work area appearance, and sanitation of food service areas.

Willingness to seek new methods and incorporate them into existing practices.

Successful completion of a background check, pre‑employment physical, and drug screening is required.
