Retail Sales & Showroom Consultant (Flooring) Hall's Flooring has been the home of quality floor coverings in Charlotte since 1947. We're a third-generation, family-owned showroom with a huge selection of carpet, hardwoods, hard surface flooring, and custom rugs, backed by professional installers and a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.

We're hiring a client-facing Retail Sales & Showroom Consultant who's conscientious, proactive, and excellent at follow-up. Sales experience is helpful, but not required – we'll train the right person. What matters most is that you're organized, personable, and you genuinely like helping people make decisions they feel good about.

The Role This is a relationship-based retail sales role in our showroom. You'll greet clients, ask the right questions, guide them through product options, and coordinate next steps, especially follow-ups, measurements, quotes, and check-ins. You'll also work closely with designers and our internal team to keep the client experience smooth from first visit to installation.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome clients in the showroom and learn what they're trying to achieve (style, budget, timeline, durability, pets/kids, etc.)

Recommend flooring and rug options that match the client's needs and space

Track and follow up on every lead – calls, emails, quotes, samples, appointments, and next steps

Coordinate measures, quotes, and installation scheduling with the internal team

Occasionally visit houses to measure floors and consult with clients

Work collaboratively with designers and installers to ensure a seamless experience

Maintain organized notes and updates in a simple tracking system/CRM

Help keep the showroom presentable, stocked, and ready for clients

Support services like design consultation, custom area rugs, carpet binding, re-stretch, and old flooring removal/recycling (as needed)

Qualifications

Highly conscientious – you don't let leads go cold and you finish what you start

Friendly and confident with people – comfortable building rapport quickly

Strong follow-up habits – you enjoy closing loops and keeping clients updatedOrganized and detail-oriented – you can manage multiple clients and timelines at once

Proactive communicator – calls people back, confirms details, and prevents surprises

Comfortable working in a designer-forward environment where teamwork and client experience matter

Willing to work some Saturdays as required in retail

Flooring/interiors experience is a plus, but not required

A valid driver's licence and reliable mode of transport is essential

Compensation & Growth

45,000 - 50,000 USD + highly competitive bonuses
