TV6 is looking for a strong candidate to serve as a Monday–Friday evening anchor who can also fill in for the meteorology team and provide regular weather forecasts via our live stream. The right candidate will ideally have some experience with reporting and be comfortable on air, in front of a camera. Duties/Responsibilities:

Producing/anchoring the 5:00 p.m. newscast 4 days a week. Forecasting weather on evening newscasts at least one day a week. Forecasting weather on live stream Monday–Thursday evenings. Write content for shows and on the web. Working knowledge of weather computer programs/systems. Maintain professional appearance. Represent the station positively at all times. Work collaboratively with the weather and/or anchor team. Edit broadcast scripts that will air on your show. Pursue semi-regular opportunities for in-depth reporting for specials or promotable series. Qualifications/Requirements:

This person must have a demonstrated background in news and be actively pursuing a meteorology degree or certification. They must also be able to demonstrate a knowledge of meteorology. A command of the English language, spelling, and grammar is required. Personal appearances in the community and station functions are an important part of the job. This position is held accountable to on-air standards for appearance. Ability to critique others’ work and act as a mentor. An interest in digital storytelling/streaming opportunities is a plus.
