Your Role: US Poultry Sales Representative The purpose of the sales representative role in Elanco is to create demand and secure sales by professionally promoting, differentiating, delivering and demonstrating the value of Elanco products and services to customers and the people who influence their product use decisions. Sales representatives are held accountable for delivering sales results, managing territory business plan, aligning Elanco activities with account needs, and creating strategic territory/account plans and implement implementing agreed upon initiatives within those plans.

Your Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a territory growth plan, prioritizing opportunities and achieving sales targets; adapt corporate account strategies as conditions change.

Deliver scientific key messages on Elanco products to key influencers/decision makers and position the full portfolio as tailored solutions.

Assess customer needs to uncover solvable problems and opportunities; represent the customer’s voice to management and marketing.

Use CRM to capture relevant data, derive insights, and inform pre-call planning and execution.

Collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to meet individual and team objectives and strengthen account execution.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

Education : Bachelor’s Degree

Experience : A minimum of 2 years of sales or poultry production experience

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Passion for selling and animal agriculture; Ability to influence across multiple disciplines: veterinary, nutritional, processing, feed milling, sales and marketing, and senior management, building and maintaining strong relationships

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

Ability to work with and influence broiler, turkey and layer integrators along with key distribution and nutrition customers

Demonstrated ability to develop goals, key milestones and action plans for key accounts

Self starter with high initiative and sound work ethic

Demonstrated ability to learn, apply and communicate technical/scientific knowledge including the flexibility to learn new products and disease states over time

Strong team member with ability to interact and coordinate a diverse set of resources across the customer base

Entrepreneur mind set with strong grasp of business acumen

Additional Information:

Travel: 40-60% overnight travel required, depending on location

Location: Field Based. Majority of customers are located in Iowa, Minnesota, and surrounding areas.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $86,000 to $143,000 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above. Elanco reserves the right to amend, modify, and terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion, and Elanco’s compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Elanco employees.
