Veterinary Assistant – Internal Medicine – Advanced Veterinary Specialists
Compensation range: $18.00 - $26.00 hr.

We offer a range of specialized services, including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, oncology, and emergency care, delivered by a team of dedicated professionals.
We are currently seeking
a Veterinary Assistant
to join our
Internal Medicine
team. The successful candidate will work closely with our board-certified Internists to provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical conditions.
As a Veterinary Assistant in the Internal Medicine department, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine department
Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures
Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their animal's condition and treatment options
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized
Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology
Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment
Other duties as assigned
Compensation range: $18.00 - $26.00 hr.

Work schedule:
4/10 work week, Friday & Saturday + 2 additional rotating days a week
Weekend and holiday flexibility required.
Basic required qualifications:
General understanding and experience with small animal restraint with a focus on cats and dogs
High school diploma
Calm, professional demeanor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital
Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy
Understand and follow established hospital processes and procedures (i.e. SOPs)
Able to work well independently as well as with a team
Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology
Preferred qualifications:
Enrolled in a veterinary technology program
Clinical experience working/interning in a veterinary hospital
