Position Summary The Dining Room Supervisor will coordinate the service of the food delivery system in the dining room area, oversee resident involvement in dining room activities, and supervise dining room servers.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous service to residents.
Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners.
Greet guests, escort them to tables and provide menus.
Address and solve complaints of residents, while providing exceptional customer service.
Oversee dining room server duties, while expediting drink and food orders in a timely fashion.
Assign work tasks and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service.
Inspect dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness.
Requisition table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
Coordinate with Lifestyle department to ensure that center pieces for dining room tables are seasonal and holiday appropriate.
May assist in planning menus for special events.
Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
Clean-Up
Assist dishwasher and other team members, as needed.
Bus tables during and after meals.
Clear tables when residents are finished eating.
Clean salad bar, beverage counter, ice cream parlor and bar.
Vacuum carpet in dining room after each meal.
Assist housekeeper and other team members as needed to sweep and mop tiled area of dining room floor.
Dust, wash windows and maintain clean and attractive dining room area.
Service Staff Duties
Interview, hire, counsel, and discharge dining room team members, under oversight of Dining Director.
Train dining room team members.
Assist with scheduling work hours.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
Experience supervising a staff of 15+ employees
High school graduate or GED
Demonstrated experience in food preparation and managing the front of house.
Experience in volume food production within a commercial kitchen
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
State food-handling and kitchen regulations
Operation of kitchen appliances (dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, blender, food processor, meat slicer, mixer, etc.) and office equipment (FAX photocopier, telephone)
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate or degree in food service is preferred
Enjoyment in working with older adults
