Transmission Foreman

The Transmission Foreman leads a crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables. Responsibilities include crew safety oversight, tracking employee hours, facilitating daily & weekly safety briefings, and coordinating with other departments to meet project goals. Responsibilities
Obtain necessary materials and ensure all permits and licenses are in place. Oversee work related to each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness. Ensure compliance with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec or customer standards, whichever is higher. Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections; disseminate information and ensure understanding of safety briefings. Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing, when the Foreman is required as a qualified observer. Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals. Attach and detach hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles as needed. Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product. Perform construction work, including digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in various conduit systems and open excavations. Climb utility poles or operate an aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design. Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completing work. Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 years of experience in the field. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Preferred
8+ years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor. OSHA 20 Certification. Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. Work may be performed in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position is physically active, with lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Vision requirements: 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships, precise hand‑eye coordination, and color identification. Benefits
