Overview
This is an Exempt Senior Sales Rep position that provides support to the Specialty Foods department. Duties include but are not limited to the following: customer service and sales calls to both existing and new accounts; customer billing and collection; logistics coordination; active participation in food trade shows; accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly sales reports, as well as performing market and product research and analysis, as needed. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, self-motivated, and have great analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with supervisor to plan and implement short/mid/long term sales strategies of the Specialty Foods;
- Lead general sales activities such as sales calls, customers visits, etc
- Execute high level of customer service through timely order taking, revising and adjustment, claim/complaint resolution, responding to general inquiries, etc.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, as well as effectively interfacing key personnel at the Speciality Foods Corporation
- Monitor daily transactions (Purchasing, Receiving, and Invoicing) in the system
- Collect all Account Receivables balances in a timely manner and monitor Credit Limit usage
- Create necessary marketing tools including presentation materials, training materials for foodservice accounts, etc.
- Compile, generate, and analyze sales and shipment data on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis; other ad-hoc reporting as necessary
- Study and understand customer needs and analyze market trends (competitor’s items, pricing, packaging, design etc.)
- Support Department Manager in development and implementation of Budgets, Forecasts, and Marketing and Purchasing plans
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2~3 years of sales experience, preferably in the food industry
- Knowledge and love for Japanese and Asian food products a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Bi-lingual English and Japanese
- Valid California Driver License and clean driving record
- Advanced level Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Travel 10-20% (May require business trips and/or occasional work on weekends and holidays, as necessary with subsititute comp. day(s) allowed.
