Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 Annually
Our client, a multidiscipline boutique law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Labor & Employment Attorney to join their team in Dallas.
The ideal candidate will focus on employment-related matters, handling litigation cases and representing employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unpaid wages. The candidate should have 8-10 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on labor and employment law issues, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
- Advise clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings and court actions.
- Investigate potential labor law violations.
- Handle employment litigation, including preparing legal briefs and determining litigation strategy.
- Draft and review employment-related documents like contracts and severance agreements.
- Collaborate with HR and management on company policies and employee handbooks to ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct training programs for HR and management on employment law compliance.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
Key Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Analytical skills to analyze complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex legal concepts to non-attorneys.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Attention to detail in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
- Problem-solving skills to develop practical solutions to complex employment issues.
- Collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
