Reports to Chief Estimator; assists in preparation of mechanical estimates related to piping and/or other mechanical work by performing the following duties. Key Responsibilities:
Visits work site to determine if existing conditions would affect the scope of work. Performs quantity take off and pricing for mechanical work. Responds to phone calls from subcontractors to discuss scope of work. Recognizes and adjusts the standard cost database to take into consideration risk and difficulty of actual work. Assists in drafting subcontracts as needed. Assists in coordination of mechanical work with civil estimators prior to bid to ensure full scope of work. Prepares estimating files for use by project managers. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in engineering or its equivalent from an accredited institution and 3+ years progressive wastewater/water treatment plant estimating experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in California preferred. Ability to collaborate with supervisors, co‑workers, managers, employees, business associates, and customers. Physical Demands:
Persons performing service in this position will lift up to 50 pounds of force or exert up to 20 pounds or more frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This type of work involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and climbing for a varied amount of time. Close vision work is also required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Salary Range:
