Mortgage Banking Specialist
Position Title: Mortgage Banking Specialist
Business Unit: Mortgage Administration
Reports to: Varies based on assignment
Position Overview This position is primarily responsible for originating residential mortgage loans through internal and external referral sources. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong referral relationships, counseling mortgage customers around solutions to their lending needs, providing excellent customer service, and supporting all key channel initiatives and sales activities. The specialist is accountable for meeting or exceeding personal production and strategic activity goals while supporting risk management and compliance requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Build relationships with internal and external referral sources to achieve performance goals
Consult customers on lending options and provide solutions that meet their needs
Support and facilitate key banking partnerships
Deliver excellent mortgage customer experience and manage loan pipeline to meet milestones (documentation, closing dates, pricing, compliance)
Provide direction, feedback, and performance coaching to Sales Assistant; manage production performance, efficiencies, loan quality, and customer experience delivery
Recommend recruitment, hiring, and advancement of Sales Assistants and other support team members
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
Serve as a risk manager by understanding, reporting, and monitoring daily risk in accordance with F.N.B. Corporation’s risk management program
Adhere to regulatory laws, guidelines, and company procedures for compliance
Minimum Level of Education High School or GED
Minimum Years of Experience 3 years of relevant experience
Skills Required
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with general office equipment and personal computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint – basic level)
BS or BA degree preferred
Must possess a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry identifier; experience with Easylender, Uni-form, and Genesis
