A private family is seeking a flexible and experienced Personal Assistant/Household Manager to support a well-established household in Highland Park, IL. The role requires a high degree of flexibility, as hours will include a blend of daytime work and variable after-school, evening, weekend, and occasional overnight coverage. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $70,000–$80,000.
Key responsibilities of the Personal Assistant/Household Manager
Keep the household running smoothly by managing day-to-day tasks and maintaining an orderly, well-kept home
Handle ongoing home care duties including cleaning, laundry, and organization
Plan, purchase, and restock groceries and household essentials
Arrange and oversee home services, repairs, deliveries, and scheduled appointments
Complete a wide range of personal and household errands as needed
Provide administrative and personal support to the Managing Partner when requested
Safely drive children to and from school, activities, and appointments
Be present for after-school and evening supervision, adjusting availability as schedules change
Occasionally remain in the home overnight during work-related travel
Create a dependable, safe, and supportive environment for the family
Key qualifications of the Personal Assistant/Household Manager
Background in household management, personal assistance, childcare, or a similar private service role
Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to work independently and anticipate needs
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
Flexible and comfortable with a schedule that includes irregular hours
Trustworthy, discreet, and professional in handling private matters
Experience interacting with and supervising teenagers
Valid driver’s license, clean driving history, and reliable personal transportation
