Position is based at 816 Garrison Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901; however, location is flexible and will be determined upon hire. Incumbent should reside within the Arvest 4 State Operational Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK).

Hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed.

Job Summary

The Group Credit Commercial Loan Assistant provides assistance with the servicing of the classified commercial loan portfolio in accordance with established guidelines. This role delivers support to internal areas such as determining necessary documentation for various loan types while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to obtain corporate entity information and related loan documentation, such as title searches and commitments, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) searches, flood determinations, and appraisals for loans.

Review loan documents prior to closing and facilitate loan closings; perform post‑closing reviews to ensure files contain documents with proper signature, dates, and other necessary information.

Disburse loan funds after closing and process loan documentation within established timelines, ensuring ongoing maintenance of loans in the system and providing continual support to foster customer relations.

Manage the loan documentation pipeline, provide regular updates to key stakeholders, obtain credit information and ensure sufficient loan collateral, ensuring timely completion of the loan process.

Monitor the Technical Exceptions (TE) list to ensure bank security interests are perfected in a timely manner.

Coordinate with other divisional teams, borrowers and third‑party vendors in coordinating receipt and review of required documents to expedite closing process or other documentation.

Collect and distribute customer financial information, updating documentation to support outstanding loans and maintaining confidential business data in an efficient and accurate manner.

Perform a wide range of administrative duties and prepare and maintain department reports, as needed.

Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank’s BSA/AML Program, completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policies, laws or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Experience

Required: 2 years of experience in a general loan operations capacity.

Working regulatory knowledge such as privacy, safeguarding customer information, Regulation B, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Regulation Z, Truth in Lending, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), and flood regulations.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace or other applicable software.

Comprehensive knowledge of title review processes, appraisals, and tax escrows.

Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Education

Required: High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.

Preferred: Associate’s degree.

Must be able to operate standard office equipment and use office applications for communication, information and document transmission, and content, document, and report creation.

The essential duties of this job occasionally require the associate to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Must be able to operate a passenger vehicle and possess a current, valid driver's license.

The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.

Pay Range : $21.89 – $26.00 per hour
