Black Hawk County (IA)
Perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance of county property such as, cleaning, painting, mowing, snow removal and assisting mechanics.
Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance in order to perform assigned tasks. Locations may vary as needed.
Housekeeping of facilities and grounds, sweeps, mop, scrub, polish, vacuum.
Prepare surface and paint, interior and exterior.
Operates motorized equipment, pickup truck w/ snowplow, utility terrain vehicles, skid loader, lawn mower, snow blower, weed trimer and other outdoor grounds upkeep equipment.
Change out light bulbs as needed.
Minor plumbing duties, clogged sinks, lavatories.
Lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment.
Performs inventory and compliance audits.
Performs site survey of county owned properties.
Travel to pick up and drop off parts.
Perform minor vehicle and equipment maintenance, changing oil, filters, washing/cleaning.
Other duties as assigned
Supervision Received
Supervision is received from Facilities Operations Manager.
Supervision Exercised
No Functional and Administrative supervision is exercised over support staff.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
Job-related experience performing duties and responsibilities as outlined preferred.
Must have a valid Iowa Driver's License and be insurable under the county's guidelines.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
May be required to work varying hours including weekends.
