POSITIONSUMMARY:
The EnrollmentCounselor Admissions Specialist is responsible for guiding prospective studentsthrough the enrollment process, from initial inquiry to registrationcompletion. This role requires strong communication skills, customer serviceorientation, and the ability to connect with prospective students to understandtheir unique needs and goals. As an Enrollment Counselor, you'll beinstrumental in guiding students to their educational journey. This role primarily involves support and detailed management of thecampus visit process, providing strong communication to visitors both pre andpost-visit, supporting logistics for daily visits and recruitment events, andengaging with the Campus Visits & Enrollment Events Management team toensure a dynamic and excellent campus visit. This position will support effortsto build affinity for Duquesne from each visitor and prospective student, withthe goal of making Duquesne the student's first university choice.
Note: This is atemporary position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide inbound andoutbound communication for prospective students and their families, ensuringstrong customer services and consultative student recruitment. Support theadmissions, campus visit, and enrollment processes, including but not limitedto logistical support for events and daily visits, calendar coordination andadministrative support, inventory management, and other duties as assigned.
Presentations & Meetings: Give general informationsession presentations to groups of students and families visiting campus, andconduct 1:1 individual meetings to provide consultative recruitment and assiststudents by providing information about the university, admissions, andacademic programs. Abilityto work evenings until 8pm and occasional weekend work required. Goal Achievement: Using your talents and problem-solving skills, recommend ways to helpmeet specific enrollment targets, analyzing data to develop strategies forimproved performance. Achieve monthly goals for campus visits, contactedprospects, completed applications, and semester based closed enrollments on asemester-basis.
Compliance and Training: Stay informed of and adhere to all relevant regulations and policies,and engage in ongoing professional development. Ensure compliance with FERBA, Title IV, and other applicableregulations.
InterdepartmentalCollaboration. Coordinate with other departments, including financial aid,registrar, and academic advising, to ensure a seamless student experience.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma
1 - 2years' experience in customer relations, sales, higher education, particularlyin admissions, financial aid, student accounts, or advising and registration orrelated fields.
Familiaritywith academic programs and offerings
Proficientin using technology for communication and data management
Note: Experience inhigher education admissions office, managing student ambassador groups, and/orwith event planning can substitute for experience/education requirements.
Preferredqualifications:
Associate'sdegree in business or related field from an accredited institution.
Familiarity with Slate and Bannerpreferred.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
