How You'll Make an Impact A CNC Lathe Machinist will have the exemplary manufacturing skills, a working knowledge and experience on a variety of CNC machines and controls, and a dedication to being part of a world class manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

Work a full-time, onsite position at our Fife, Washington location.

Perform the most complex machining of parts and tools, typically on one or more machines, with minimal supervision.

Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and inform lead person of discrepancies.

Thoroughly inspect first part run.

Meet job standard times with minimal supervision.

Recognize production problems and inform supervisor.

Understand basic machine language (G and M codes).

Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools.

Read and interpret manufacturing / engineering drawings.

Maintain a track record of high-quality work with low rework and scrap history.

Maintain high efficiencies and run rates for given machine.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

Perform miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed.

Follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of equipment and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Available to work a full-time position with pre-determined shift times.

Minimum of 4 years related experience, training, licenses/certification or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.

Understands and comprehends all forms of technical documents including blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc.

Serve as a technical resource for less skilled or experienced machinists.

Work independently, follow instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time.

Demonstrate a good attitude toward work and arrive on time for start of shift.

Properly use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, indicators, etc.).

Follow instructions and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Communicate well verbally and in writing.

Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs. Reach forward, up, down and to the side to move equipment. Continuous standing and walking throughout the workday. Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material. Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

Work Environment: A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation and Benefits Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match. The CNC Machinist - Lathe Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $20 – 33/hr, commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
