Position: Sheet Metal Technician / Press Brake & Waterjet Operator

1st shift

Department: Sheet Metal

Compensation:

Target median rate of $21.50/hr, negotiable based on experience

Overview We are looking for a highly capable Sheet Metal Technician who can both program and operate equipment in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment. This role supports our sheet metal forming and cutting operations while working closely with our engineering team. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly independent, and confident in making decisions on the floor.

Responsibilities

Program and operate an Amada press brake using VPSS 3i Bend CAD/CAM software.

Set up, program, and operate a FLOW waterjet.

Modify blank layouts and perform light CAD work when needed.

Work directly with engineering to ensure accurate part development and efficient manufacturability.

Maintain high quality standards in a precision aerospace environment.

Take ownership of the sheet metal workflow and operate with strong personal leadership.

Adapt to changing priorities common in a low-quantity, rapid‑turn job shop.

Required Experience

Hands‑on programming and operating experience with Amada press brakes.

Proficiency with VPSS 3i Bend (or similar Amada software).

Experience operating a waterjet; programming experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and flat patterns.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience

Prior FLOW waterjet programming.

CAD skills for minor part/blank modifications (SolidWorks, Fusion, or similar).

Background in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environment.
