About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with a focus on AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining and providing legal advice on a variety of contracts related to design and construction projects, leases, and insurance. This role involves a significant amount of document review, as well as the preparation of reports, guidelines, and participation in the management of legal actions. The Senior Corporate Counsel will also work closely with internal stakeholders to assess legal and business risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the company's legal interests are protected.
Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree, be licensed to practice law, and have a minimum of 5 years' legal experience, preferably in an engineering and construction law practice or corporate legal department. The role requires experience in managing and resolving engineering and construction disputes and litigation, as well as a strong background in the preparation, review, and negotiation of design and construction contracts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, communication, and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams and contribute to strategic decision-making. A service-oriented mindset, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite are also essential.
